The nightmares

Should Stay

And the chaos will never end

The good dreams

Are all a blur

But then you wake up

In sweat and frustration

The nightmares you are used to

They are a part of nature now

They are a part of you now

They are the essence of life now

Good dreams are abstract

They never mean well

A good dream Is almost the worst

Than a nightmare

The suffering caused by a nightmare

Is better than the analytical confusion of the good dream

The wars in the nightmare

Are better than the altercations in the good dream

The essence of the nightmare

Has a higher normality

Than the good dream

The nightmares can stay

Let the good dreams go

Waking up in a  frustratging angst

Is worse

Than waking up to what you know

You should’ve dreamt about

In the first place

This beautifully illustrates how some can get so used to their own darkness that the light becomes foreign and even unsettling. Very lovely poem
